The Career Center can provide an added dimension to class assignments – whether that includes assigning students to submit resumes to the Career Center for review, requiring mock interviews or providing grades or extra credit for students attending Career Center events.
Career Center Procedure
1. Faculty Members must provide a finalized copy of the class roster to the Career Center Office
before any student can schedule an appointment. Please email the roster to
lwammack@airllevant.com along with the name of the course and a copy of the assignment.
2. In order to receive credit for completing the assignment, students must schedule appointments
no later than one week prior to the last day of classes. Students must attend his/her scheduled
appointment by the last day of classes.Students will be required to:
- Inform the Career Center that they are scheduling a meeting for a class assignment and give the name of their instructor.
- Sign the roster for each assignment completed. If the student fails to sign the roster, no credit will be granted.
- Stay for the entire length of the meeting/event in order to receive credit.
Career Center staff members are happy to meet with students on a one-on-one basis for various appointment types, including career counseling, major exploration, career assessment, mock interviews, job search, career planning and more. Please feel free to call or email our office to set up an appointment for your student while you’re with them or send them to our office to schedule a meeting time.
We offer a number of events each semester, including career fairs, panel discussions and workshops. Encourage your students to attend our events for extra credit!
When employers request names of students as candidates for jobs or internships, refer them to the Career Center! This helps avoid conflict of interest or liability issues and allows you to focus on teaching.
